Joker CT – An update

In the tillage sector efficiency with a 3-point linkage has a name: HORSCH Joker CT. The range of use of the disc harrow is particularly varied and ranges from shallow stubble cultivation to a fine crumbly seedbed preparation. Its strong points are the intensive mixing of harvest residues, the germination stimulation of volunteer crops and the interruption of capillarity.

Mechanical weed control becomes more and more interesting also for conventional farms, among others as the use of glyphosate is regulated to in increasing extent. However, mechanical weed control requires a very even and regular field so that in the second pass you can work with a machine like the Finer SL at a working depth of 3 to 4 cm. And this is where the Joker comes in. It has been developed further in such a way that it leaves an absolutely even level field and you can then use for example a Finer SL to fight weeds mechanically without any problems. The first pass after the harvest, thus, is carried out by the Joker CT.

The solid design and the simple handling make it special. Due to high operational speeds up to 20 km/h it is extremely efficient and achieves a high hectare output while the horsepower requirement is very low. Moreover, it scores due to the design with two discs at the new disc arm and proves its low susceptibility even if there are high amounts of straw or lush catch crops.

The new details

The new disc holders with optimised disc angles guarantee an ideal surface quality and a level work result. Due to the slightly diagonal position of the discs the capillaries are broken when working shallowly. This reduces tractive power and in dry years saves available water.

The bearing unit of the Joker CT has been adapted in such a way that durability was increased enormously. The bearing unit is completely based on an inhouse HORSCH development. HORSCH also invested considerably in the optimisation of production, e. g. by using robots. The customer, thus, can rely on utmost quality in the 3-point sector.
Another detail of the Joker CT update is the new edge disc which replaces the original deflector plate. Thus, the maintenance effort caused by greasing the deflector has reduced considerably. The edge disc generates an even work pattern in the border areas regardless of the working depth. It guarantees an exact following of the tracks especially on the headlands and at the field borders.
The Joker CT is also available as a liquid manure version which is particularly interesting for contractors in 6 to 7 m working width. Due to its very low overall weight and the extremely stable frame construction, it is ideal for being attached to a self-propelled sprayer or trailed liquid manure barrels.
Moreover, a lot of additional equipment is available for the Joker CT, e. g. the MiniDrill for catch crop sowing or various packer system for all types of soil.
