Versa 3 KR – mechanical seed drill with additional value

The Versa 3 KR is the first mechanical made by HORSCH which due to its flexible metering and the precise seed placement is an excellent option for farmers in the 3-m working width segment.

HORSCH is constantly working on developing innovations and new concepts. The Versa 3 KR and its SmartClip metering system is one of these innovations which was presented in 2021. Since that time, this development has become very popular among a lot of customers. The reason among others is the easy adjustment of the metering for different crops. The electronic system completely communicates with ISOBUS standard. The operating concept has been optimised for touch terminals, allows for an individual adjustment of the display options and sets a new standard in this segment.
The seed drill excels due to the well-thought out SmartClip metering system that can be adapted without tools. Tramlines and row spacings can be adjusted variably and quickly and easily adapted to the conditions and the requirements. The online SmartClip Guide allows for carrying out the optimum settings for the SmartClip metering quickly and easily. After having selected the crop, the desired row spacing and the operational speed, the Guide reliably helps finding the optimum adjustments for the machine.

Due to this flexibility regarding the tramlines, the Versa KR is particularly popular among machine co-operatives and contractors. The metering quantity can be adjusted manually by the driver while driving or via application maps.

Precision & stability

As standard, the Versa KR is equipped with the double disc coulter DuoDisc that has specifically been developed for this product. As of spring 2024, the well-proven TurboDisc seed coulter will be available as an option. The coulters are press-wheel controlled and therefore can perfectly follow the soil contours to keep up the previously set placement depth for every grain. Coulter pressure and seed depth can be adjusted independently.
The Versa KR is combined with the power harrow Kredo which due to its design provides utmost stability even in difficult conditions and allows for an intensive seedbed preparation. The working depth can easily be adjusted via a perforated plate.
Due to the constant validation and optimisation process, another option for this seed drill will be available for the Agritechnica. A hydraulic upper link between Kredo and Verso allows for lifting the seed coulters and using the Kredo solo on the headlands. Due to the hydraulic coulter pressure adjustment, the coulter pressure can be increased or reduced while sowing.

Markets

The Versa KR is ideal for farms with smaller fields that still attach major importance to a precise and reliable seeding technology. The seed drill works excellently in heavy soils or late crops as well as after a deep cultivation or in ploughed fields. It thus is an attractive option also for mixed farms that occasionally also cultivate field crops.
