Maestro CV/CX satisfies customer wishes

Among others, the Maestro CV/CX excels due to its high precision and efficiency and has been designed for heavy-duty tasks. Arnd Rosemeier from the HORSCH sales team Central Germany explains the various options of the single grain seed drill.

The Maestro CV/CX consists of a large seed wagon and a coulter bar and can be customised for the most different conditions. The trailed version mainly appeals to customers who want a manageable machine that is easy to operate and at the same time provides utmost efficiency. AutoForce and various control systems combine comfort and operational reliability.
The well-known Maestro CV/CX with 6 m working width is one of the top-selling Maestro lines in Europe. The compact unit is now extended by a new 12-row version with a row spacing of 75 cm and thus a working width of 9 m.

Well-proven metering systems

The seed is singulated by the well-proven metering systems AirSpeed and AirVac. “Our customers can decide which system they want“, Arnd Rosemeier explains. They can choose between the well-proven AirSpeed metering system for the CX version and the AirVac system for the CV version. Each system has its advantages and its justification in the market. With larger fields and a focus on sowing maize, many customers go for the CX. In regions where fields are smaller, e.g one hectare, or where the seed is placed shallowly in somewhat wet conditions, the vacuum system proves its strength. He emphasises that there is no difference between the two systems with regard to the precise metering of the seed.

Quick facts

  • 8 to 12 rows with 6 to 9 m working width
  • 3 000 l fertiliser, optional 800 l central seed hopper
  • AutoForce and AutoForce Pro for optimum embedding of the grain in changing conditions
  • Central microgranular unit with a capacity of 300 or 600 l for up to two components

AutoForce for ideal populations

“To achieve an optimum population and thus better yields, the HORSCH AutoForce System really provides an essential advantage for the farmer.“ The system automatically adapts the coulter pressure to the soil conditions by continuously adapting the pressure on the seed coulter to ensure an efficient seeding even in extreme conditions.
On very light, sandy soils or when sowing early, e.g. sugarbeet, the weight of the parallelogram-controlled HORSCH seed unit itself can already be too high. With AutoForce Pro, the latest HORSCH development, the seed row can be released actively. This means: Weight is reduced hydraulically and transferred from the single grain row to the main frame of the machine. Thus, the automatic coulter pressure regulation system can always adjust the optimum contact pressure and ensure ideal starting conditions and an optimum root development.

Market demand flexibility

The flexibility and the various options of the Maestro CV/CX is required in the Central German market. “The region provides all challenges a product develop team can wish for”, Arnd Rosemeier explains. From regions with low rainfall to sandy and stony conditions, from regions with small fields to large fields – the Maestro always excels due to its wide range of applications and its reliability. The versatile single grain technology is ideal for maize, sunflowers, sugar beet, sorghum, rapeseed, soybeans and other bean varieties. This is a huge advantage especially in regions with small fields as a multiple use of the machine has to ensure economic efficiency.
“Every year anew, agronomic aspects, potential yields and the profitability of the farms are a challenge. Therefore, a machine with more possibilities is an advantage for every customer“, Arnd Rosemeier summarises.
