HORSCH PIRK Forestry: bundling competence for the forestry sector

Under the name HORSCH PIRK Forestry GmbH, GEPIMA and HORSCH are now jointly pursuing the objective of further developing innovative forest technology for practical use.

GEPIMA was founded in 2022 by Michael and Markus Pirkenseer and Reinhold Rösel and stands for innovative and high-quality forest technology. Michael and Markus Pirkenseer were born with a passion for forest and forestry. They realised early on what a crucial role the right technology plays in forest management. As long-term employees of the HORSCH company in the R & D sector and due to their experience gained by forestry practice, they gradually developed new concepts and ideas for practical forest work.

The approach for the development of own machines arose from the requirements on their own farm: wood forwarding was to be organised more efficiently. This is how the first machines were developed. The foundation of GEPIMA was the starting point for the further development and sales of state-of-the-art forest technology. With the three existing products, the young company was able to make a good name for itself on the market in a very short time.

Among these products figure the forwarder trailers HORSCH Pirk 16 MP, HORSCH Pirk 20 MP as well as HORSCH Pirk 20 MP  S – a version without a crane – and a forest skip. A central feature of the machines is the hydraulically adjustable drawbar which allows for moving the trailer sideways and which can be raised or lowered. The driver, thus, can control the trailer in difficult terrain and adapt it individually to the conditions. Lowering the drawbar provides a much better view of the loading area during loading and unloading. This makes the loading process considerably easier. The standard 40 km/h licence also ensures efficient road transport.

Together into the future

This potential is now to be expanded further. In the course of intensive discussions, it was decided merge the competences of HORSCH and GEPIMA and to operate jointly under the name HORSCH PIRK Forestry GmbH. The co-operation will use established structures of the HORSCH Maschinen SE & Co. KG and create synergies to push technological developments and develop new markets for HORSCH, but combining the competences offers great opportunities. With strong partners and a shared passion for the development of innovative machines, the basis for a successful future has been created.
