Agritechnica review 2023

Record visitor numbers, the most comprehensive appearance in the company’s history, many international visitors and good discussions: the Agritechnica 2023 was a complete success for HORSCH!

This year, the time had finally come again: the Agritechnica, the world's leading trade fair for agricultural engineering, took place in Hanover from 12th to 18th November. A total of over 2,800 exhibitors from 52 countries presented their products and innovations. The interest in the show does not wane. The organisers counted a record number of 470,000 visitors from all over the world.
HORSCH‘s appearance at the Agritechnica 2023 was the most comprehensive in the company’s history. Just under 200 employees of the different company sites and sales regions all over the world contributed essentially to the successful show and the smooth organisation. The same is true for the sales partners which provided active support and thus emphasised the long years of excellent co-operation.

Numerous innovations

A total of 31 machines from the sectors tillage, seeding technology, hybrid farming and crop care were presented on a surface of 2,881 m². More than half of the machines were innovations that attracted a lot of visitors, such as the pneumatic fertiliser spreader Leeb Xeric 14 FS, the new single grain seed drill Solus 1047 SX or the next generation of the Pronto 7 DC. Innovations from the Intelligence sector were also presented and intensively discussed at the show. The objective to convey the relevance of this future-oriented topic was achieved and met with great interest from the visitors. The innovations included the high-performance eosT10 terminal and the PartFinder which is to simplify spare parts procurement to the greatest possible extent in the future.
In total, a wide range of products was presented across all sectors so that the idea of a system concept was often brought up when discussing with customers and farmers. They explicitly asked for the combination of different solutions HORSCH can offer for their individual requirements. The employees were always available to provide advice and information.

Forum for communication

Agritechnica is a very important event for HORSCH and the anticipation of finally being able to talk to people from all over the world again after the pandemic-related break was already very high in the run-up to the event. The international character of the show once again became evident this year. A wide public from 149 countries from all over the globe came to Hanover. The seven days were used for intensive discussions with customers, sales partners and visitors. Machines and innovations were presented, current topics were discussed, and personal contact was established – this is what makes the Agritechnica so important for HORSCH. The interest in the HORSCH Stand 04 in Hall 12 was very high, and there always was a large crowd.

At the stand

The stand design and the technology created a very good atmosphere so that everyone felt comfortable at the stand. The numerous guided tours gave the visitors and customers an insight into new products and innovations. The large number of employees at the stand ensured that visitors were quickly looked after and provided with information. Another means to ensure this at this year’s Agritechnica was the QR code at the machine. Thus, visitors could immediately access digitally all machine-specific information. The feedback for this kind of information transfer was very positive.
The Minister of Agriculture Cem Özdemir also took the opportunity to visit the HORSCH stand. The discussions focussed on the topic of SpotSpraying.

During the show week, a French/Polish and a Ukrainian stand evening took place. The atmosphere was good and numerous customers took the opportunity for a relaxed exchange.
Beside the innovations, another highlight was the “Yield Challenge”, a project organised by dual students where the visitors could put their skills and strengths to the test (read more: Agritechnica Attraction: “Yield Challenge” – Made by HORSCH students). The diverse motifs of the HORSCH adhesive tattoos provided a quite special memory of the visit at the HORSCH stand.

Focus on sustainability

One topic that was taken into account throughout the whole preparations for the show was the sustainability of the stand. The planning was based on the motto "Reduce. Rethink. Reuse. Recycle". In order to achieve this objective, the material requirements were reduced considerably and the aim right from the start was to reuse the material. While around 95-98 % of the stands are equipped with a disposable carpet, HORSCH rented a reusable carpet which has already been used for more than 10 years. The objective is to remove material from the cycle for the show, e.g. furniture from the HORSCH sites, which are then returned and reused or to return new purchases to the cycle after the show.

Anything to do with the Agritechnica

Within the scope of the show, the HORSCH Versa 3 KR was awarded the DLG Test Mark “DLG-approved”. The seed drill did not only score with regard to the “Function and work quality” test but also completely convinced the jury in the sector “Handling, operation and maintenance”. The Versa also achieved very good and good results in the laboratory tests with regard to metering accuracy and distribution of the seed diagonally to the direction of travel.

The Leeb Xeric 14 FS was awarded a special prize. The pneumatic fertiliser spreader received the Farm Machine Award in the category Population Management.
The clever metering concept was particularly emphasised by the jury (read more: An unusual approach: Farm Machine 2024).
