Spending time together – after work
Going out for dinner with colleagues after work or meeting up for a drink – this is not a new concept. However, it would be a lot easier to do so right at the end of the workday and directly on site. This is why since this summer, once a month, HORSCH has been offering an after-work event at its German sites where employees can simply come together.
During the shift or between appointments, there hardly is time for private exchange, getting to know each other properly or networking. Therefore, after-work events have been organised at the sites in Landau, Ronneburg and Schwandorf since this summer – in addition to HORSCH’s internal groups for events or joint sports sessions. Since June, these events have been held once a month for all employees – whether production or office, permanent or temporary as well as new or longstanding employee.
From the afternoon until early evening, HORSCH offers the staff the opportunity to sit down together after work in a relaxed atmosphere, snacks and drinks included. These gatherings bring variety to the working life. You can get to know new employees and exchange ideas about private interests - all this encourages teamwork and strengthens the HORSCH network.
After-work with a program
In addition to the relaxed and informal get-togethers, the sites have also been able to hold after-work events with a program. For example, a 10-15 km bike tour for nature and sports enthusiasts took place in Landau during the after-work event in July. In August, the employees took advantage of the good weather: Ronneburg organised a barbecue, Landau hosted a soccer tournament and Schwandorf a volleyball tournament. In both sporting events, the focus was on the fun of the game, not the level of experience. At the end of October, a group of employees played several rounds of the board game "Werewolves of Miller’s Hollow" at the Schwandorf site – right in time for Halloween.
So far, many staff members took the opportunity to either participate directly in the proposed program or to spend time with like-minded people in a relaxed atmosphere. Employees can also contribute their own ideas and wishes at any time and thus help shape the evenings.
A very special end of the year celebration
At the end of this year, in-house Christmas markets will be held on the factory premises of all German sites after the staff meeting. Various trucks and stalls will be organised for catering to provide numerous delicacies in addition to classics such as mulled wine and fried sausages. After the official program, employees can talk to each other in a cosy Christmas atmosphere and thus have the opportunity to celebrate successful projects and the end of the year in a cosy atmosphere.
Last year, the company's internal Christmas market took place for the first time in Schwandorf, and similar Christmas parties were held in Landau and Ronneburg. Due to the success of the event and its great popularity, it was decided to celebrate the end of this year again in this special way.
