As a family-owned company, HORSCH knows how important it is to reconcile work and family. For this reason, it is very progressive not only in agricultural engineering, but also with regard to HR management. Due to this there have been several awards in recent months, especially for measures regarding family-friendliness and the health of the employees.

Bavarian Family Entrepreneur of the year 2023

On 29th of June 2023, the HORSCH Maschinen GmbH was honoured as Bavarian Family Entrepreneur of the Year 2023 by the Association of Family Entrepreneurs on the occasion of the Bavarian Family Entrepreneur Congress. HORSCH stood out particularly due to its focus on the protection of the environment and human health. The award is an additional incentive for the management to lead the company into a successful and sustainable future.


On 15th of June 2023, HORSCH received the Successful.Family-Friendly.2023 award from the Bavarian State Ministry, honouring it for the second time as one of the 20 most family-friendly companies in Bavaria. Minister of State Ulrike Scharf and State Secretary Roland Weigert presented the award to Cornelia and Michael Horsch.

The company met the criteria of the competition and offers even more: the company provides family-friendly working conditions such as individual working time models or flexible working hours. Holiday care for the children of the employees is organised in addition to offers and support for different phases of life, e.g. for parents or for personal and professional development. The internal communication of these measures via the internal network and contacts as well as the family-friendly HR policy at all levels play a major role at HORSCH.

Family-friendly company 2022 in the district of Schwandorf

On 28th of June 2022, the local alliance for families awarded HORSCH with the Family-Friendly Company Award 2022 in the district of Schwandorf.
The competition honours municipalities and companies that make Schwandorf more attractive in the long term and serve as a role model for others in the region due to their municipal family policy or family-friendly HR policy as well as the resulting measures and offers. It illustrates how productive family-friendliness is in practice and the advantages it brings.

Innovation Award for Corporate Health Management 2022

On 13th of January 2023, the corporate health management concept “Mindful Talents – Mindfulness as a Future Competence for Learning, Work and Leadership” by Christoph Koppmann and Steffen Besserer (both HORSCH Maschinen GmbH) was awarded the BGM 2022 Innovation Award. In 2022, they conducted a study with the HORSCH apprentices as part of a master thesis (see terraHORSCH 25/2022) which formed the basis for the concept and its implementation.
The positive effects of the study encouraged HORSCH to pursue the topic further. HORSCH employees can find everything they need to know about mindfulness in the company’s internal network – background information, positive effects of the training, recommendations for podcasts and books and easy exercises for everyday life. Mindfulness training encourages creative and innovative thinking, supports physical and mental health and helps to better cope with challenges and stress.
